About Me
Born in London but brought up in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, I graduated in Sports Studies from Sunderland Polytechnic in 1981 and spent the following 18 months teaching & coaching swimming in the U.S.A.
Upon my return to the UK I took up a position with a blue-chip I.T. company as an Account Manager, working with global organisations in sectors including aerospace, oil & gas and manufacturing. During this time I received homeopathic treatment for a back injury sustained during a diving accident some years earlier. The result was nothing short of profound and to this day the injury remains settled. The experience of having this treatment stirred an interest in homeopathy that was to develop further 6 years later.
In 1998 I enrolled on a 4-year course in Homeopathy at Sheffield College of Classical Homeopathy, graduating in 2002.
Now, many years later, I am actively involved in research within the NHS, encouraging the availability of homeopathy within primary and secondary care. In 2011 I successfully completed post graduate training at Leeds University School of Healthcare in ‘Rheumatology : Disease Processes, Treatment & Care’. I subsequently became a member of the British Health Professionals in Rheumatology (membership number 006797).
In April, 2010 I addressed the Society of Homeopaths Annual Conference & AGM at the School of Pharmacy, London about the experience of conducting a clinical trial of homeopathy within the NHS. The conference provided an opportunity to express how important I think it is for patients to have access to complementary therapies such as homeopathy within a hospital setting. Not only does such access support wider patient choice it can also yield significant cost savings. I therefore believe that ongoing rigorous clinical research is vital in demonstrating that homeopathy is a safe, effective treatment that conventional practitioners can recommend with confidence. (See, for example, 'IIT-B Team Shows How Homeopathy Works', The Times of India, 16th Dec, 2010)
In support of safety and standards my practice is registered with the Data Protection Act ensuring patient data is stored appropriately and protected from misuse.
